Day
01: Arrival at Delhi
Company
representatives will receive you on arrival
at the international airport in Delhi, India.
They will help you transfer to your hotel
and check in at the hotel.
Day
02: Delhi
You
will be picked up from your hotel to travel
on a full-day tour of Old & New Delhi.
In
Old Delhi you will see the Red Fort, an
impressive sandstone monument built in red
sandstone by the Emperor Shah Jahan, the
Jama Masjid - one of the largest mosques
in India; enjoy a rickshaw ride in Chandni
Chowk - a historic market street; also see
Raj Ghat - the memorial of Mahatma Gandhi,
Humayun's Tomb and the Qutab Minar.
In
New Delhi you will see Rashtrapati Bhawan
- the President's mansion, Parliament House,
India Gate, The Bahai (Lotus) Temple and
shopping arcades in New Delhi.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
stay.
Day
03: Delhi - Jaipur
In
the morning, after breakfast, we travel
from Delhi to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan,
India, by road. The distance of approximately
260 km, is covered in 5 hours.
Arrive in Jaipur at noon. Check into your
hotel and relax. In the evening you can
go shopping or explore the city of Jaipur.
Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight
stay.
Day
04: Jaipur
Enjoy
your breakfast at the hotel. We then proceed
to Amber Fort for a day's excursion. At
the foot of the hill leading to Amber Fort,
you will climb onto an elephant and enter
the fort in royal style on elephant back.
Inside Amber Fort, you will see palaces,
gardens, historic weapons and a grand view
of the lake and the city of Jaipur.
Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight
stay.
Day
05: Jaipur - Agra
After
breakfast, we travel from Jaipur to Agra,
by road. The distance of approximately 221
km, is covered in around 5 hours.
Arrive
in Agra at noon and check into the hotel.
Visit Fatehpur Sikri en-route. This city
was built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar as
his ideal city. It was however abandoned
after his death and the city's beautiful
buildings stand as a reminder of an Emperor's
dream.
In
the evening you can enjoy the ambience of
the city of Agra. Dinner and overnight stay
at the hotel in Agra.
Day
06: Agra
After
breakfast we will drive to the Taj Ganges
parking place. From there we will take the
battery operated bus to the world famous
Taj Mahal. Built by the Mughal Emperor Shah
Jahan, in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal
who died in 1631. This marble mausoleum
is situated near the river Yamuna and contains
the tombs of both Shah Jahan and Mumtaz
Mahal. It is regarded as a monument to everlasting
love.
Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in
Agra.
Day
07: Agra - Khajuraho
After
breakfast we transfer to the airport for
the flight to Khajuraho. Arrive in Khajuraho
and transfer to the hotel. Explore Khajuraho
and return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
stay.
Day
08: Khajuraho
Proceed
for a guided tour of the famous temples
of Khajuraho. This group of temples was
built by the Chandella rulers of central
India between 950 and 1050 A.D. They are
known worldwide for their sculptural excellence,
which includes erotic carvings. Return to
the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day
09: Khajuraho - Varanasi
Breakfast
at the hotel. Transfer in time to the airport
for the flight to Varanasi. Upon arrival
at Varanasi, you will be met and transferred
to the hotel. Later you can explore the
spiritual ambience of this holy city. Return
to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day
10: Varanasi
Morning
drive to Daswamedh Ghat and take a boat
ride on the sacred river Ganges to see the
cremation Ghats and witness the living traditions
of one of the world's oldest and most important
religions. One can also witness the evening
Aarti ceremony of Varanasi ghat.
Day
11: Varanasi - Delhi
After
breakfast at the hotel, we proceed for sightseeing
of Sarnath. An important Buddhist pilgrimage
destination, this is the site where Lord
Buddha preached his first sermon after gaining
enlightenment. Explore the sights of Sarnath
and return to your hotel for dinner and
overnight stay.
Day
12: Delhi
Breakfast
will be at the hotel. Go sightseeing or
shopping in Delhi and enjoy the Dances of
India performance in the evening and a farewell
dinner at an Indian restaurant.
Day
13: Delhi - Home
Transfer
to the airport in time for your flight home
with unforgettable memories of India, at
the end of your North India vacation tour
package.
